This session will provide an overview of Db2 and all the significant additions we’ve added in Db2 11.1 (include mod levels 1 and 2). Use cases and performance results will be explained. Following the summary of new features and improvements delivered in Db2 11.1, we will briefly cover what direction the product taking. The roadmap discussion will include not only short and medium term directions, we will discuss additional strategic and longer term themes.

1:00 – 2:15 “Db2 11.1 Performance and Tuning – (LUW)”

This session will highlight and present monitoring in DB2 11.1 with emphasis on what has changed from 9.7 to DB2 11.1. In addition, an overview of DB2 provided monitoring facilities will be presented with emphasis on db2top (for both Linux, UNIX and Windows) and an update of the MONREPORT reporting package along with a discussion on using the MON_GET table functions and administrative views. Upon completion of this session, you will be familiar with the latest in DB2 11.1 monitoring and be able to put them to use in your organization.
